Arthur Lutz
Senior Hydroloog/Expert Klimaatverandering
Dr. A.F. (Arthur) Lutz is een fysisch geograaf met een achtergrond in hydrologie, hydrologisch modelleren, GIS, remote sensing en cryosferische processen. Tot zijn expertises behoren hydrologisch modelleren variërend in schaal van grote rivierstroomgebieden tot kleine catchments, de effecten van klimaatverandering op toekomstige waterhuishouding, simulatiemodellen, data-analyse, hydro-meteorologische metingen in het veld en training. Hij heeft zijn opleiding voornamelijk aan de Universiteit Utrecht gevolgd, waar hij zijn Bachelor en Master diploma’s in de fysische geografie heeft behaald. Tijdens zijn opleiding lag de focus op oppervlakte-hydrologie, landdegradatie en stroomgebiedsmodellering. Daarnaast specialiseerde hij zich in de cryosferische processen door specialisatiecursussen in glaciologie, permafrost en periglaciale omgevingen aan het Universiteitscentrum in Svalbard (UNIS) op Spitsbergen de volgen, en liep hij stage in de cryosferische onderzoeksgroep van de Universiteit van Zürich. Arthur heeft meerdere jaren als consultant en GIS-specialist gewerkt voordat hij in 2011 bij FutureWater kwam werken. Hij heeft internationale werkervaring in meerdere ontwikkelingslanden in Azië, Latijns Amerika en Afrika. Hij is auteur en co-auteur van meerdere wetenschappelijke publicaties. Tussen 2012 en 2016 heeft hij zijn gecombineerde promotieonderzoek bij FutureWater en de Universiteit Utrecht gedaan wat heeft geresulteerd in zijn proefschrift getiteld: “Effecten van klimaatverandering op de hydrologie in de hooggebergten van Azië”.
